Mabel Rae Shines On Collection
Mabel Rae loved all of God's creatures-except crows-and was rescuing insects and small creatures every day, most days talking to the creatures and calling them "little buddy". One of Mabel's very favorites to "rescue" were snails. When waiting for her older siblings to be done with school, Mabel could be found waiting on the corner, hands covered in snails.
On the highly anticipated "snail day" at school, where everyone is asked to bring in a snail to study, many students came empty handed because snails were hard to find due to the lack of rain. Mabel, though, had no problem finding them and brought in a bucket of snails-well over fifty of them!
