Belgian Waffle Blanket

That fluffy square texture isn't just for your Sunday brunch plate. Our Belgian Waffle Blankets bring the same satisfying, thick-grid pattern to your couch, bed, and everywhere in between. Each blanket is crafted with a waffle weave...

What is a waffle weave blanket?

A waffle weave blanket is made using a special loom pattern that creates raised squares, like a Belgian waffle, across the fabric's surface. That textured grid isn't just for looks. It traps warmth in the pockets while allowing airflow through the weave, giving you a blanket that's cozy without feeling heavy or stuffy.

Are waffle blankets good for year-round use?

Yes. The waffle texture's open weave structure makes these blankets naturally breathable, which is why they work so well across seasons. In summer, the lightweight fabric keeps you comfortable without overheating. In winter, the grid holds warmth close to your body, especially when layered over other bedding. Hot sleepers in particular tend to love them as an alternative to heavier throws.

What size waffle blanket should I get?

It depends on how you plan to use it. For a throw to keep on the couch, our Travel or Adult sizes work well. If you want it to lie across your queen bed as a decorative layer, the Monster size (60" x 72") is a great fit. For a king bed, the Grande (60" x 84") gives you that extra length. Check out our blanket size guide for a full breakdown by size and age recommendation.

How do I wash a waffle blanket?

Machine wash in cold water with regular liquid or powder detergent; no pods, no fabric softener. Fabric softener gets trapped in the fine fibers and dries stiff, which is the opposite of what you want. Hang to dry, then pop it in the dryer on the air fluff setting to bring the texture back. No heat, no dry cleaning, no ironing. Full washing instructions here.

Is the waffle blanket soft?

It is. The waffle texture gives it a satisfying tactile feel; those raised squares have a gentle cushion to them, while the fabric itself stays smooth and soft against your skin. It's a different softness than our Hugs or Lush blankets (which are plush and thick), but it's the kind of lightweight softness that makes you reach for it constantly.

Can I use a waffle blanket as a duvet cover alternative?

Many customers layer their waffle blanket directly on top of their bedding in place of a heavier duvet, especially in spring and summer. It adds a cozy, textured look to the bedroom while keeping things breathable. It pairs well over a fitted sheet on its own for warmer months, or layered under a duvet when it gets cold.

Are Minky Couture waffle blankets a good gift?

Yes, and here's why! They're useful in every season, they look beautiful draped over a couch or bed, and they hold up over time.
